For decades, James Bond games have lived in the shadow of Goldeneye 007 for the N64. So how does this one do?

To put it simply, this IS a good game. But it isn't great. It is much better than the next gen version which at the end of the day are nothing but Cod4 with a James Bond skin. This version of the games for PS2 takes a over the shoulder styled third person shooter, somewhat like Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love did. Now both of those games had better graphics than this game, but this game is still fun if you can get past the dated graphics. The game tries it's best to be a fun game and it succeeds at this fairly well. It doesn't contain all of the elements to make it a great game, such as a lengthy story and a great challenge. But those have haunted many of the Bond games. All of them are quite short and even on the hardest difficulty, they remain pretty easy. This game is definitely not one of the best in the Bond video game franchise but it certainly is not the worst. If you ever feel bored on a weekend and can't think of anything to play, this game is very fun to fill in that space. I finished it in six straight hours and still play it. For me the game is just fun, and isn't that all we really need to make a game playable? This is a game for Bond fans and casual gamers looking for a quick and easy game to occupy themselves with. But if you don't like short and easy games and are not a Bond fan, I would recommend you steer away from buying this one.
