One of the BEST racing games ever!!!! Much underrated title.
The controls and gameplay are tight and responsive and manage to be easy to use, while at the same time providing a degree of mastery.
By far the best feature of 1080 is the tack design, and I am talking the best track design EVER! There are genuinely multiple routes and it is true test of reacing skill as you embark upon an adventure of discovery. There is loads of variation in the course design, with each one feeling organic and natural. You really do get the feeling that you are on a mountain much more than its peers, with huge drops and adrenaline rusing explosions. It never becomes gimmicky though.
Every challenge seems an impossibility at first, but you'll surprise yourself at what you achieve. An example of this is the collection of 5 shards of a gold coil on one go on each course in time trial. I managed to get them all, someting that I wouldn't have even dreamed of when I started.
The courses are tightly designed so time trial is a blast, even if you are beating your own records. All in all a superb racer and just edged out by a certain online Nintendo racing game.
