Beautiful artworks - but more of a lousy film than an interactive story.
The cutscenes and the dialogues take over since I would say that more than 3/4 of the game consists of these. At one point for example, you listen to a long dialogue and when it's your turn playing as Catherine you get asked to find a USB-stick. This is right next to you, at a table, so you pick it up, click on your roomie Mike (which you had the dialogue with before) and there it goes: another dialogue and endless cutscenes.
The good:
- Good voiceacting, especially with the american detective.
- Detailed and gorgeous graphics.
- Nice variation playing four different characters.
- The storyline is OK.
The bad:
- The interactive elements are minimal, and almost every time easy. You don't really get motivated to explore the environment when you know that this is worhless anyway.
- The game quickly gets boring and it feels like a long wait to get the story to move on.
- Really unstable game that crashes alot so remember to save often!
For me, a big fan of adventure games, this game is more likely to fit a 10-year old girl than anyone looking for the kind of experience where you actually forget there is an outside world. Not worth paying for and definately not worth your time.
