I bought 1942 because I really enjoyed playing the original in the arcades back in the 80's and 90's. The game is everything I expected. Capcom did it again with a great remake of an old classic. The HD graphics are nice as the game has some "3D" depth to it (you feel like you are in the sky above ground). The gameplay is just as fast and intense as I remember. The multiplayer is fun because of the "Joint Strike" feature: you and a friend can each use a special weapon to help destroy the dozens of aircraft trying to knock you out of the sky. It's a little tough to get used to, but can be very helpful if you master it.
The difficulty is just like the original...it's no cake walk. You have to be a fast gamer to conquer the skies here, no slowpokes allowed. Get some rest because your hands will get tired when you play this! It's got all the fast action, button-mashing and maneuvering you can handle!! I gave it a "7", it is a good game and if you like old school fast action gameplay (like 1942, Millepede, etc.) you'll dig it. For $10, it makes a nice addition to your collection.
