A real Retro Punch to the face and I want more.
The game has the basic fairy tale story:
1. Everyone is enjoying their time in the Kingdom.
2. An evil appears and causes ruckus.
3. A new Hero gets summoned.
4. Why do I have to rescue this Princess? She's not my girl.
5. Find and fight evil.
6. Kingdom saved once more.
There are numerous side quest and mini games that will keep you occupied while doing your main storyline quests.
Let me tell you about these mini games:
1. Some will make you want to tear your hair out.
2. Some will make you want to throw your controller.
3. Every single one is challenging. There's no freebies here folks.
The character editor is amazing. You can create some interesting characters if you have the time and patience. There's also an online gallery where you can upload and vote for your favorites characters.
I have one comment about the huge sword. It's awesome. You only get it with full health. It's suppose to be easy fighting the little rabbits and spiders. DUH! That's how games were back then. So stop hating on the sword. Besides, just cause you have a huge sword doesn't mean you won't get hit or lose life. Trust me.
BTW, 'official' critics that gave this game a score below an 8 are obviously done by people who never beat Zelda (the pwnage still hurts) or never played the NES. A 6? Come on, you got to be kidding me.
