Theres paying homage and theres plain just ripping off.
Let's begin we begin as the game tells us the story of a great evil that was stopped by a hero with a magical sword and saved some city (so far SO original) this legend brings people to the city but then people started to leave so the king turns the city into a 3d world (I wish I was making this up) But the evil that started all this comes back AND YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN STOP HIM..... You get the point now right.
Now about the character you can either choose the pre-set characters that the game provides which in fairness there are loads and they all look good or you can make your own but instead of wasting a huge amount of time just choose Santa clause (He's in there not making this up) and since this game decided instead of making something original they would just rip off the legend of Zelda you play as a silent protagonist who has a fairy who never shuts up and thinks he's being useful.
Now after you've gone through all this your asked by a king to go through many dungeons to collect some mythical orbs at first the dungeons seem pretty cool and exciting but after you've gone through a number of them they begin to reek of similarity and the only thing that keeps you going through this dungeons is the thought that the game will be over soon (sadly not soon enough).
So the game is bad in fact it's very bad and unless you really miss the old days of gaming I suggest you stay clear of this game the game has nothing you haven't seen before and it really doesn't care I mean the only thing that truly makes the game stand out is the bosses, the seldom good puzzles and every once in awhile the landscape looks good.
Some people may say this game pays homage to old games but there's paying homage and there's plain just ripping off to make cash.
So if this game sounds good to you sadly your Atari probably won't be able to play.
