MiniGolf is a neat idea that is partially successful and includes a clever course designer.

Pros: welcome change from shooting; course designer; fun multiplayer

Cons: inconsistent putting physics; uneven difficulty

Achievements Rating: Medium

MiniGolf should really be a killer title on the XBLA: crazy golf is fun; fits the "causal gamer" brand; and it easy to pick up and play. MiniGolf can be fun, but it can also be very frustrating as well. The game is great to look at and features some nicely designed holes that offer multiple paths to success. The music is light hearted and the level of challenge would be fine, but for the principle problem with MiniGolf - it's unpredictable ball physics. Too soft and the ball doesn't move, 1% more and it might fly off out of bounds.

MiniGolf is still a fun multiplayer game, and level designer is a neat idea, but just watch out for those "Newton's law" defying golf balls.
