Old school point&click adventure. Simple visuals. Annoying bugs. Good sounds. Serious story, very good plot and twists.
Unfortunately the version of the game I played was very very buggy. I hope other users will not encounter as many as I did. From the usual crashes to the more annoying loading fails (which forced me to play several times large parts of the game). Even puzzles had problems (at some point although the puzzle was correctly done the game refused to acknowledge it). Puzzles are not that great, even if they are very few. Its a pity adventure games were stripped of them, in recent years you can hardly find anything enjoying. Most game puzzles are either absurd or very simple. Most of the time you spend searching for different objects, combining them and using them in the weirdest ways. I wish developers would pick up some puzzle books. (there are plenty ingenious ones)
So why did I play this game if it has so many flaws and why did I decided to give it an 8? Well because of the story. The plot is very good and engaging. The game sends an important message about nuclear energy, but it doesn't exaggerate environmentalism as I first thought. I think the game is German made and those following news bulletins lately know about Germany's plan to close nuclear reactors in the near future (especially after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster) so the game revolves around an alternative energy source developed by a Norwegian scientist. The twists and turns are unexpected and make the game very interesting. But many aspects of it just seem cliche and at some point very annoying. The ending unfortunately is such an example. However this was a very enjoyable game, easy to play and able to absorb you gradually without choking you with everything at once. Although I had to replay parts of it because of bugs and crashes I enjoyed it and felt and impulse to push to the end.
Your own opinion will differ I am sure. I am just a great fan of old-school adventure games, but most of all serious stories that make me reflect.
