The main fault I have about this game is the controls and how well they work. When you jump there isn't much variation in terms of how that is going to go, which ends up feeling like the NES castlevania jumps which were a disaster. I know people say that it isn't something to say anything against but people need to look around at other games at the time and earlier and look at how well the controls worked in the mega man and mario series even on the NES, in other words there is no excuse. With that being said this is a fun game when everything is tied together but if you only had your levels it would just be a generic sword using side scroller with very little redeeming value. When this is tied together with the over world areas and how you will do a whole building civilization game that is simple but enjoyable and also adds to leveling up and gains you other spells to use in the stages, things tie together to make a very solid game. The actual stages are pretty forgettable and when everything is said and done this game really isn't very impressive today but it was great for it's time.
