A fantastic strategy game that deserves a place in your Game Boy Advance!

User Rating: 9.2 | Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising GBA
I was a huge fan of the original Advance Wars, so I went into this game not knowing what to expect. I loved everything about the original. The replay value, the colorful graphics, the link play, the custom maps, the cool characters... everything was just right. The sequel "Black Hole Rising" doesn't change much, adding one new unit isn't much, but there is more than meets the eye. There is new terrain tactics, levels of CO powers (adding more strategy and making things more unique), and a longer campaign. The game doesn't make gigantic leaps forward, but it is everything a fan could have wanted. For those that have never played the original, it is an RTS without the boredom of resource collecting. Think of it as a more tactical fun game then an a 2 hour long battle of assigning tasks to peasants. As I mentioned before, the units are all balanced and each one has it's place and use. The way you collect money to purchase units is taking over cities by having infantry turn them to your side! Sound in the game is somewhat mediocre, neat music, but annoying after a while. Tank and infantry sounds are spot on and so are planes, whicha re better than most Game Boy games. In short, this game is great, check it out. If strategy games aren't in your interests then don't waste our time. But if you have always enjoyed a little thinking with your games, then go buy it THIS INSTANT!
