All out War for the general on the move

User Rating: 9.8 | Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising GBA
Easily the best GBA game i have ever played, Advance Wars 2(AW2) is one of the few GBA games that i still play, even with a PSP in hand. Very few games are succesful at bringing the strategy genre into the handheld, yet we look at the Advance Wars sereis and go, "hey, why didn't we think of this before?"

AW2 is a turn based strategy game, and a good one too. Taking place in a fictional word, the evil Black-Hole Army lays waste to the people of Wars World. Putting aside their differences from the first game, they set out to defeat the evil Black Hole army and Sturm, their evil leader. The Single Player Campaign is enjoyable, containing a variety of challenges from defeating an enemy in a straight battle, capturing a certain base, destroying MASSIVE CANNONS, to defending a position, it gives a challenge to even the best of players. The AI of AW2 is smart enough to be played over and over again and still be enjoyable.

If the idea of Campaign does not suit you, there is a skirmish mode, which allows "Hotseat" style multiplayer of just single player battles against bots. As the campaign is completed, it allows the player to buy more maps and other features to use in skirmish modes through points earned in completing the missions of campaign. The "War Room" missions are a sereis of missions in which the odds are tilted against you. Although difficult, the reward for beating one is a large amount of points (depedent on your preformance) and a good feeling of pride.

AW2 is a must buy for any GBA owner or DS owner. With the Release of Advance Wars: Dual strike, the advance wars sereis will continue to live on as a revoliutionary title.
