An improved decent sequel to a very decent game.
Advance Wars 2 is exactly like the first; you start as a CO and advance to harder and harder missions while gaining access to new units. The game plays exactly the same as well, with very few additions to keep it a separate experience. The new unit, the neotank, is the most powerful land unit in the game. It adds to the strategy of the game by making you and your opponents think about what they should do when this monstrosity roams the map.
Black Hole Rising has a well written story, but most of the focus in on why the war is happening, and which CO is taunting another. The dialogue between the COs is somewhat funny, but for Advance Wars veterans, it might be too repetitive from the previous game.
Multiplayer is the same as the original game. There are system link modes, as well as a pass-the-gameboy-around mode where up to four players fight on one GBA.
Overall, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising is a solid sequel in the series, packed with all the previous enjoyment, as well as some new experiences.
