Too Kiddie for me

User Rating: 6.4 | Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising GBA
This was the first game I ever got for my new Gameboy SP, and I selected it based solely on the high score here on Gamespot - probably not a good idea looking back on it. After playing through the game about half way, I hate to say that this game serves as an introduction to Gameboy games for me, and I see that I'm probably not going to not like most of them. The problem? The kiddie-cuteness factor - I CAN'T STAND IT !!! At it's core this is a pretty good strategy game, but it's wrapped up in some insane childish wrapper that is on a teletubbie mentality. Yuck! You can turn off the animations, and press a button to skip over the childish dialogue, but you will lose some important tips by doing so - meaning you have to listen at least once to this insane drivel. One last comment - I like that you can save the game at anytime, but the individual levels are just too long to play on the train like I got my Gameboy for. Summary - A decent strategy game if you can overlook the cutie-pie elements (I can't)
