My re review of Age of Conan..
Having played the game since beta, I have experienced a lot of great things of Age of Conan and well, a lot of bad things. Sure everyone at one point said the game was going to die and that it was a bust. But really that is not the case.
Conan does things that no other has really done, and that's the combat. Whenever someone asks me "whats the main thing you love about Conan" I simple respond; "the combat." It mixes so many elements into the system. How you much where you hit and the list can go on.
The game recently came out with it's core system overhaul. Meaning all the stats in the game have been changed and classes have been rebalanced, and really every MMO goes through one of these. I will say that the developers made a right move, they made things make more sense and given more meaning.
I'll move on from the personal stuff and get right into the meat.
Graphics; Since my last review Dx10 was not out. Well folks it is now. Sadly it is a test Dx10 it works and works well. Running very smooth and just giving off drop dead visuals. From the god rays and the moving grass to the caustics that simulate underwater. You really feel that Conan has done its deed with the visuals. And I will still say that Age of Conan has the best visuals in any MMO on the market.
Sound; The game's score is really refreshing. Since I have been playing for over a year I have it turned off a lot. But, sometimes I check that greyed out box and just relax.
Gameplay; This is where Conan really lacks, it has a lot of content to do pre lvl cap but once you are there and have raided a few times you pretty much are done. And this is known as the most important factor, and really it is easy to level up. The xp pools are driven that way.
All and all, Age of Conan is a under ratted game, and Funcom wants the word to heard with its 14day re evaluation. They have announced that they are going to unveil a expansion soon. Conan is heading in the right direction and the future is bright for the king.
