Conan had it's disastrous start that kept me from purchasing the game. Now that I've actually tried this game out, I'm very excited about playing it more.

Firstly, the game looks great and runs smooth. I run on XP with P4 3.0, ATI 2600, and 4g ram. I have all the visuals pretty much maxed out and run at a solid 20fps.

The graphics are top of the line. This is the best looking game, and smoothest game I can run on my PC. If you have a newer machine with Vista you can enjoy the game in DX 10. I've seen this in screenshots and the difference is not vast, but definitely noticeable. Still, running in DX 9, the game looks fresh.

I've was playing WoW and Conan is much better in many aspects. Mainly Conan is obviously for adults and a mature audience who enjoy a little blood and gore. But that's now all what Conan is about.

Questing is fun and plentiful with a solid log book, map system, and overall uniqueness. There is plenty to do and keep you busy while you lvl up.

The gameworld was a surprise to me just how big the lands are. The map is divided into zones like many games but it's a pleasure to explore. There are many dungeons, lvl areas, PVP zones, and zones where guilds can congregate and build their own cities. You can even build castles.

If you are into PvP the servers will suit you well. There are good skill-sets for players to customize their toon and enter brutal hunting grounds all over the map. You can set traps, hide, assassinate, or just be brutal in whatever way suits you. On the PvP servers the only safe places are in cities. There are PvP areas on all servers of course.

There are many classes to choose from and the feat system allows you to customize your talents. This system could have been more expansive IMO but it works well and players can focus on their desired forms of character traits.

The only complaint I really have is the first twenty lvls are spent in a chain of islands. Whenever you make a new character you will have to repeat this process, but I think you can actually skip if you so desire.

Overall this is the right game for anyone looking for a fresh MMO. Yes there WERE problems but as I've mentioned everything is cleaned up now and running smooth. It's great to join the community and find the right guild for yourself. Raiding is also great fun with the right guild.
