I hate all games that copy Tony Hawk, and when I saw this one I put it on my hate list...Until I played it!

This review is going to be short and sweet, even though the game is huge and awesome. I really was hoping this game was going to be bad. I hate all games that copy Tony Hawk, and when I saw this one I put it on my hate list. Then I thought about it, and figured if there was no skateboard, the tricks would never be as good and it was destined to fail...right?....WRONG! First off the graphics are great. The Levels are huge, well detailed and laid out perfectly. The character moves smooth as silk and is responsive to control. There are a ton of tricks and combos to pull off, even though there is no board. So far I was completly wrong about this game. After the longest tutorial in history, I tried out the carreer mode and it was original! There is no time limit in the game, all you need to do to continue playing is perform tricks. Doing tricks increases your boost bar allowing you to skate faster and perform even better tricks. If the bar depleats, then it's game over. You go around the level and talk to people and they will give you tasks to perform. So instead of getting the standard list of tasks at the beginning of the levels, you go in blind and find out what to do by interacting with the level. I love the RPG elements of the game as well. Your character improves by doing what what he does best. If you grind on rails a lot, then that skill will improve and you will level up, during the level. It just makes more sense than the earn points and asign them to different attributes after the level. The game is deep and rewarding, and if you are into these extreme sports titles at all, you will love this one, I promise!
