This is definitely my favorite rpg.

The gameplay's great, you're free to customize 4 of 13 characters at any one time throughout the game and who you have in your party actually has an effect on th game. In the beginning there are a lot of invisible walls but once you maximize your thief skill that's no longer a problem. A lot of people complain about how long the battles take but you can get around that by sneaking up on the enemy, although I like starting off at a distance because it gives me a chance to use my ranged weapons.
The game can be difficult if you're not used to it, but I've played the game a few times and it's actually easier than you think if you know where to look.
The game is quit long, the first time I played It took me about 128 hours to beat, although I spent a lot of time wondering around and talking to the towns people.
If you're used to playing rpgs you should have no problems figuring out how to play.
The graphics aren't the greatest, and the characters are actually the worst looking things in the game, well the main character is anyway, most of the other characters look alright but that's only because they have something on to cover up their flaws. The game world itself doesn't look half bad, though.
The sound effects themselves aren't spectacular, but I must admit that the music, especially the music in the towns like port saiid was very enjoyable.
If you like rpgs you'll really enjoy this game, and while it does have it's flaws this game will by far outshine any other rpg you've played to date.
