Just another Asian MMo

User Rating: 7 | AION PC
Aion is the most interesting MMo thus far. Chain skills-Wings-Great PvP-Smooth gameplay-and they really focus on how your character looks and plays. But it is still far from a good MMo.

The graphics are still very lacking in many areas of the world, except (of course) the starting areas levels 1 to 10. The amount of random quests gets you confused, there are many areas with LOTS or no quests that are spaced at random places that you have to go find - no one will tell you to go there to find more. Everything in this game is chance - Skills/Gathering/Enchanting/Socketing - it seems like one big trip in Vegas where your going to spend HOURS on something and then lose it in seconds or get nothing from it. Grinding is another big problem in the higher levels, quests only give a fraction of your levels worth (better off killing 5-8 mobs with rest).

If you like or can put up with these things before hitting level 50, then you will definitely enjoy it. End-game in Aion is a blast for any MMo player. Thus far the Abyss has been great, the pvp has been flawless, PvE stays true to PvE. The amount of skills and customization with your character at end-game is shockingly brilliant and very well done. The amount of secrets and areas to be found are high which gives lots of hours of true (Not WoW) enjoyment. Overall, Aion is going to be pain from levels 10 - 45. You can always stop leveling and go about doing random enjoyments but you will always have to face the music of Fails and your sword hitting the same monster for the 1000 time.

NCsoft has announced the 1.5.1 patch which will increase XP amounts from quests/monsters/parties!

Good Luck! -level 40 gladiator
