Almost an amazing experience, but there was just few things that needed tweaking to be a perfect game.
The graphics, gameplay, story, and sound effects all warrant the possibility of this being a perfect 10 review. Fans of the Resident Evil 4+5 games will fit right in, even though those game are a little more freakish when it comes to combat.
What kept it from becoming a perfect game was many small items that I couldn't overlook, those being the main enemies you're fighting throughout the game. I understand they were normal people that were possessed by the darkness but to me they were annoying. You had your level against lumberjacks, hunters, policemen, etc. When they see you, they would shout some weird phrase, akin to a Smokey the Bear slogan (only you can prevent forest fires!). I couldn't help but compare it to the Resident Evil baddies, who shouted foreign threats to you and really sounded like they wanted to do you in.
I hope there is a sequel in the works, because I think they can do a lot with the genre of a horror novelist fighting dark forces that want to be free through his writings, but hopefully the combat gets a little more aggressive next time around.
