I recently picked up a copy of Alan Wake. The second I got home I popped it into my Xbox and glued my eyes to the screen. It is truly an amazing game. The storyline can sometimes seem repetitive towards the end but you will be too focused on finishing to even notice that. You play as a struggling writer who cannot seem to write when suddenly a story that was apparently wrote by him started becoming reality as he finds pages of a manuscript that HE wrote but can't remember writing. I finished it in just over 12 hours of playtime and was wishing for more. Seemed too short to me. However this does not take away from the Gameplay. It is a solid game and you will become so addicted to it. The action system is like this: you must shine a flashlight or some sort of light onto the enemies and then finish them off with some shots from your gun. Pretty simple and can be very tense but gets boring if there's a lot of enemies at once. The Graphics in this game are just astonishing. I was playing on my old small TV in my bedroom at first and was amazed by the graphics and then the next day I went downstairs and played in HD and was even more blown away. Visually, physically and mentally this game is good. The only things that take away from a perfect score is the length and action.
