Alien Hominid is a highly enjoyable 2D shooter.
Graphics 8/10: The graphics in Hominid are cartoon and 2D. Don't be thrown off the game by the graphics though. While 2D, they are still amazing and unique. There is quite a bit of gore in it though, because let's face it: If you want to find your missing spaceship, you won't want to blast the enemy with flowers. You can also bite off enemies' heads, which isn't exactly...pretty.
Gameplay 9/10: The gameplay in Hominid plays a lot like some sort of twisted cartoon. The game changes dramatically by the second area. You go from being in a city to being in snowy Russia. It adds a lot of variety to the gameplay and is a welcome change in the same old city. It also has great multiplayer. It's awesome teaming up with a friend and playing through any levels that you've unlocked. There are also a few mini-games.
Sound 7/10: The sound and music, while not memorable, keeps the game moving along. The sound of gun fire and the enemies' yells will never fail to amuse you.
Replay Value 8/10: After you've beaten the game there will still be a few things that will amuse you. Like the PDA level editor, where you can create your own levels for this little stick man to run around in. There is also lots of entertainment from replaying levels again.
Closing comments: Alien Hominid is a highly enjoyable 2D shooter that anyone with a twisted sense of humour shouldn't miss out on.
