Awesome game, ticks all the boxes. Yeah some annoying probs in mp but that doesnt deserve a 5.5. Each class is spot on.
The Predator feels awesomely badass with all his weapons and invisibility, stalking his prey for a nifty head and spine removal trophy kill
The Alien feels like a scary death machine and its soooo satisfying to best a predator in a fight with an impaling of your tail and a splash of neon green blood all over the screen
The Marine although being as strong and as capable as the other two more scarier and badass foes, feels like he should be hiding in a cupboard and not coming out till its all over unless he wants to loose his head and spine to some museum on a distant planet
But seriously its a really fun game and MP is where the true game lies at. SP is just for training to be able to survive in MP. I would defo suggest playing all 3 SP campaigns before venturing into MP mode. And play the SP on hard to make it more playing as the 3 classes.
Some annoying bugs and things that could be changed like heavy attacks hitting when they obviously missed and overall connectivity to games but thats down to lag I guess which will be all but sorted when dedicated servers arrive.
Another small issue is the Predator Hunt mode. The predator feels quite overwhelmed in this mode if you happen to be against 11 other marines. Maybe giving the predator all the weapons to begin with will help even that out. Or maybe randomising the weapon spawns. And infestation mode should promote survival for the marines as well as killing for the Aliens as I found no incentive to try and stay alive, it was more fun going it alone Rambo style and doing the dance of death with an alien with a hole punch for a mouth.
Even with some small issues this game does not deserve 5.5 in anyones book. Shame on you Gamespot for making negative points about what made these franchises so poignant today and obviously not being a good fan of the individual films.
If you dont have it already go and buy it don't listen to these poor reviewers, listen to the fan reviews. A rough 8 rating is just right for this
