Any AVP fan will gladly play it although it hasn't beaten the records.

Let Me Repeat
AVP is a video game franchise long before the two thrilling movies (as of writing) in 1990s. Stop saying it is born from the movies.

Funny Name
"Stormtrooper effect" invades AVP! Ten years ago, you have "Alien Vs Predator". Today, one xenomorph is posting no threat to anyone. "Many Aliens" are needed to combat one "Predator".

The Good
- It stars Aliens, Predators and humans.
- Cloak is free!
Cloak doesn't take energy for the Predator. Sweet.
- Combi-sticks rock!
Unlimited and one-hit-killing, great! Unlike the plasma casters, aiming the combi-stick doesn't alert the enemy. Better, you remain cloaked after throwing it.
- Gorgeous finish moves!
I don't find them sickening. Perhaps it's because I already saw things as bloody in Doom 3 and FEAR.
- Long Jumps!
Reminds me of the first Predator movie.
- Alien health regenerates by itself
No doubt a blessing.
- Harvesting is fun to watch!
It never gets old to see people getting facehugged.
- Great Alien ending
I used to wonder why you didn't get very important in AVP2 after all those you'd done for the Queen. Luckily, you end up to be somebody big now.
- Good marine campaign
Not as scary as AVP2 but still keeps the adrenline going.
- Interesting audio diaries
Not as tedious as Doom 3's.
- Co-op multiplayer!
I love "Horde" in Gears of War 2. Love blasting Xenos with others too.

The Bad
- Too short!
The campaigns don't last half as long as the one in AVP2.
- I prefer old controls!
Are the new controls better that they had to retire the old ones? A bit upsetting nothing happens when I pressed "C" ("Cloak" button for the Predator in AVP2).
- Focus mode?!
Why don't just show all Intel? They want me to hold "Shift" all the time?
- Wrist blades?!
They look cool and full stop. Wrist blades are last resort weapons. Why the hell is the Predator fighting most of the time with his wrist blades?
- Mouse 3 and plasma casters?!
Mouse 3 is hard to press in my opinion! I hate it. And I don't think it is reasonable to have blind fire for the plasma casters at all. Have you seen plasma casters blind fire in the movies? Nope. Then save us the joke of holding Mouse 3 to lock for Christ's sake! And plasma casters should kill drones and humans in one hit, right?
- The Predator a laidback scavenger?
10 years ago, it has a mobile charging tool. Now, it doesn't. It really expects humans to be there to bring their electricity to share with it?! What if there are no artificial power sources around?
- Bizarre charger!
Power sources of all sizes give the Predator a full bar of energy and then deplete even though they may be AC powered. Very realistic there.
- Frustrating Lock-on!
Whenever you use melee attacks on the enemy, your face locks onto it closely. It's like the computer is too actively assisting. Doesn't feel right.
- The ancient mask is better?!
How come the ancient mask is more advanced than our Predator's that is made thousands of years later?
- Predator ending is lame!
I expected the final boss to die a violent death in it, not just lay dead on the ground.
- Poor controls!
I still keep left-clicking when I see the Alien ready to head-bite. And then I remember it's been assigned to "E".
It's easier to climb in AVP2 – hold "Shift" to attach to any surface. Release it and you fall on gravity. You now must deal with Mouse 3 (hard to click as aforementioned) to change surface and drop back to ground. Got me killed many times already!
- Start as a drone?!
Oh man I want to facehug and crestburst somebody like in AVP2!!!
- Saliva?
Seems they forgot Aliens are wet.
- Head bite screwed?!
In AVP2 you see the inner jaw bites the head off your victims. Here, you only see blood on the screen when doing it. It looks so underpowered.
In AVP2, if the enemy's head is directly in front you, you can head-bite and instantly kill him in REAL TIME by left clicking the MOUSE. Now head-biting is only an ANIMATION by tabbing E on KEYBOARD. (Sigh…)
- Hard to find a way around!
I hate disorientation playing as the Alien in AVP2. Thought they would fix it now. Well, they didn't. Could need more help like an arrow to show me about! Focus key is a joke. Why don't just put all Intel on screen in the first place?
- Weapons:
Would be better if I could carry all weapons around. There are also not enough variety of weapons.
- Sickening marine ending
Your nemesis just never learns to stay down.

Wrapping up:
This is like a welcoming downpour of rain after a long drought. We all miss AVP. Everyone who loves this series will play it with a big smile on their face. But this is by no means a great production. The story is less emotional than AVP2. The gameplay mechanics are less "free" in general. And it's too short. I haven't played and aren't playing competitive multiplayer. But co-op multiplayer is as solid and fun as other games.
