More than 15 hours of campaign for just $5, Where do I sign?!
It may not be the most original game, it sure has some failures, but the general result is a solid game that is sold for $5 in Steam, some people have reported to have seen boxed versions for 98 cents.
The game's AI is the perhaps the main problem, sometimes the enemies will use some good tactics and cause you some trouble, but sometimes they just stand there while you empty your clips on them.
The enemies also are not very varied, most of them are just the same guy with different armor color and weapon, and also some spider and human shaped robots.
Weapons don't offer any new stuff, just the basic ones, like assault rifle, shotgun, rocket launcher, pistol, etc. A real problem is the Sniper rifle wich in my opinion is one of the worst sniper erifles I've seen in a game.
It may seem as very generic game that is not worth your money, but it offers some gameplay elements that make it really good, for example, you'll have to take care of your oxygen levels when you are outdoors and also be aware of enemy fire, you can hack turrets and cameras and use them against the enemies and as i said the AI sometimes will make you suffer.
The story is not bad at all, even when it is very generic, is the classic sci-fi setting, and the hero is the classic guy with an armor, if you have played Pariah, Unreal II, etc. You'll feel like you've been there already.
For the graphics is very similar to DOOM 3 but more colorful, sound is good, but has some problems, everytime you restart the game it setss itself to 5.1 , music si also good too.
Some developers should learn from this game, right now you can't find a game that offers more than 5 hours campaign and generic multiplayer for $60 and Alpha Prime offers more than 15 hours of pure arcade shooting ,hard difficulty campaign for less than $10, i think it is a great deal.
The price is the best form this game, if it was more expensive it would be a mediocre FPS not worth your money.
So in the end you'll get a solid FPS game for a very reasonable price.
