ALPHA PROTOCOL - This game is two things, BROKEN and a BLAST to play. If you're patient, you'll be rewarded.

YES YES YES...Alpha Protol has technical issues. To list a few....

Your character movement is too fast and very choppy. Crouch, stand, crawl, cover, sprint......all of these moves just melt together into a mess. You'll see the arms of fallen enemies on one side of the wall while their bodies are in another room. Weapon aiming is not always precise. Enemies take way too many bullets to kill. Occasionally, you won't see entire action sequences as they take place behind obstructions while your character is fighting for his life. And so on and so on.

But I am thoroughly enjoying this game.

The premise of Alpha Protocol is fantastic and has a deep, invloved story plot that is very entertaining. Character bios are developed very well and it's easy to love and hate these people. You play as Michael Thorton and the leveling up system is brilliantly orchestrated. I have turned out to be of the "commando" class by virtue of the way I have spent my experience points. I wasn't sold on the handling of all the weapons, so I poured alot of my points into the martial arts category and now I'm a walking hand-combat bad ass.

There are fun and entertaining Boss battles here and the Clearinghouse weapons store works very well. Your emails help to progress the story and each of your safe houses are nicely detailed.

So I have learned to laugh at the technical glitches when they occur. The rest of the game is designed very well and I'm having too much fun to let the issues spoil my enjoyment. Be patient and give this game a good long look.
