This game shows how 2D action-rpgs were supposed to be in the 32 bits era
I got Alundra back in those days, and what an incredible surprise it was
Graphics were 16-bit like, but with that touch of the 32 bits era, nice characters models, nice water effects, big bosses, a huge world to explore and some nice secrets here and there.
Puzzles were difficult, but not to the point of unplayable or desperation, dungeons are big and fun.
About the story, what can I say? It was great, Alundra was a kid capable of getting into other people dreams, there was a love story and great characters to meet and dig into their stories.
All this was complemented with descent anime-like cut scenes.
Overall Alundra is a good experience, one of the last 2D action rpgs worth checking out. Love it, out of the Zelda series, this is the best you can experience.
Unfortunately, they spoiled the brand name by releasing the disastrous Alundra 2 (in this game there wasn’t some one named Alundra! So why use the brand name???) So I think we wont see another sequel (real sequel to the first one).
