Stay Alive Soilder! Good Game, Good Game

Well, it's free!, so of course it is great value for money! Americas Army offers something a little different from the fast pace of Unreal and the unreal gameplay of Counter-Strike (of which I'm a huge fan!). First of all, running on the unreal engine, the graphics are beautiful, the movement is pretty smooth and the physics really work well as bodies go flying after a well placed grenade. The gamplay is good but the timer is set for 8 minutes on most official servers which can really slow down the game if you die early (which you will!!!, I don't know anyone who can stay alive very long in every round) . These early deaths are due to the realism of the game as you can't afford to get shot even once without bleeding out or dying. Apart from that, the very nature of the game does encourage you to act as a team and in the few games where a group of people have indeed acted as a team, it greatly improved changes of winning the round. The slower pace means that you can think about your movements and follow players around the map without losing them. The pitfalls of the game are: Its interface: it's boring, has no visual aids when you are selecting options in game and doesn't give you many custom options (apart from adapting your gun to the type you like) There is no forgive team kill: If by chance someone walks into your fire you can loose almost 200 experience points and get kicked from the server, people often forgive you for the 'friendly fire' but it has no effect. It would be a nice option to allow for forgiveness! Round Times: By limiting the time on official servers to 4 minutes, it would speed up games a lot and make it more enjoyable especially for the new players.
