Angry Birds is based on the tried and true projectile/angle artillery format, and has the same simple addictive quality as classic games such as Artillery on the Apple II or Scorched Earth 3D.

What makes Angy Birds fun most to play is the silly, almost stupid, story line. A flock of heterogeneous kamikaze birds that seek revenge on a horde of egg thieving hogs.

The game play is simple, yet strategic and engaging. The goal is to slingshot different varieties of birds (e.g. normal, speedy, exploding, etc.) through the many increasingly difficult levels. Eventually the game requires a high degree of precision, and sometimes, luck to win.

The only feature of the game that is kinda quirky is the ad placement. Sometimes the adverts get in the way of crucial flight paths, making some levels unnecessarily tricky.
