I cannot believe I actually like this!

Animal Crossing is a game where you really have to put a lot of time into it. If you only play it for an hour, you will more than likely disregard it as a kiddies game. It's the little things that make this game the best Gamecube title out there. Such as the way it uses the Cube's clock. Play on Christmas Day and you will receive presents from the townsfolk-Valentines Day you will get secret admirers, on Halloween ghouls and ghosts will haunt the town. You will find yourself getting up early just to catch the local market coming to town. I was getting up early for a straight week to turn off the light in a stupid lighthouse, just to get some shiny new furniture. The way this game consumes your life is no other. It is true when people say that by the time you have finished with this game, you will probably have no social life. I deleted all my data from my other Gamecube memory card (AC comes with one) just to create another town so I could get some rare furniture and fruit from there. I planted the fruit I got from this town and after a couple of weeks I was the richest little animal in the world! It is so life consuming-at least for a while.
This is where AC's biggest problem lies-it's lifespan. True, for a couple of months at least, you will worship this game like God. But then once the initial love has passed on, you're left with something a bit boring. In Animal Crossing not much happens. The whole game really revolves around buying and selling, and once you are abit fed up with this the game really loses its appeal. The furniture you buy is pretty boring and useless, and there is no real challenge to the game. The only target you have to meet is to pay off your debts to the guy you bought your house from, but you can do that whenever you feel like. I tried to interact with the other animals in my town, but they were all as annoying as each other.
You may be thinking "well you said it was the best game on the gamecube!" and you would be right. I did say that, but then again there aren't many good games on the Gamecube, is there?
