Charming and Addictive!
After you move to the small town, in the beginning of the game, you incur quite a debt for the house that is set up for you to move into and then you can proceed to do small jobs for Mr. Nook, the raccoon, as well as for any villager that has work that they need done. It can be pretty fun talking to the villagers as they don't say the same things over and over again. As time goes by and you continue to do jobs for the villagers you can get some pretty neat things from them, clothes and furniture.
There are many different furniture/decorative sets in the game that you can try and collect to decorate your place with and as time goes on and you pay off your house you can choose to expand it and/or have a basement built for it so that you can fit/store even more pieces of different furniture and different outfits. You can even design clothes if you visit the stylists in their little house and give your creations away as presents to the villagers or you could sell them for profit. There is also the option to mail letters to the villagers and they will send responses that can be pretty funny.
If you choose to collect all the different dinosaur bones and fish you can choose to donate them to the local museum, that is quite empty in the beginning of the game. There is lots more that goes on in your little town as it is a real time game and there are some events that will only happen one day a year.
As you help your little town become more beautiful, by planting trees and flowers and by deweeding it, more people will move into your town. You can even visit someone elses town with your character if you have their saved game handy (which can potentially allow you to pick fruits that you don't have growing in your town).
If you are looking for a game of a different pace or one with no real violence then you should definitely consider this game. Or even if you don't have any game you are really into at the moment... you will get into this one if you give it a shot.
