Everyone avoids this game because of the Ape Academy games, but this is totally different and is a really fun platformer

User Rating: 7.9 | Ape Escape: On the Loose PSP
Goal in the Game: To catch the required amount of monkeys on each level. Gameplay: 7

I reckon the developers did pretty well in the controls, though sometimes can become frustrating, especially when youre right next to a monkey, but not that often. They did an extremely good job because there is no right analog stick, which was a crucial part of the original Ape Escape game on the PS1. To use the gadgets like the hula hoop, you need to rapidly press the button, whereas on the original PS1 version, you pushed the right analog stick in a clockwise direction, but I guess it was the best the PSP can do.

Graphics: 8

The graphics are loads better than the original, as it should be. The characters are very easy to look at. The graphics, overall are great for the psp and could easily be on the PS2. Sound: 8

The music is good, with different tracks on each level. It also helps to keep you interested in the game.

Value: 7

Once you finish the story, you can go back to levels and catch the monkeys that you havent caught yet, if you like. It is the exact same length as the original version, but I thought they couldve added a few extra levels to help it last a bit longer.

Overall: 7.9

This is a very underappreciated game that deserves alot more than it's got. People of all ages should enjoy this game and get alot of fun out of it.
