Ok at time of writing PS3 has just been annonced so this is looking at Ape Escape as an old school classic. Ok heres the basis a professer invents a helmet that can make monkeys super smart one particular monkey called spectre (who by the way is evil) fits out a hoard of mischevious monkeys out with a set of the smart helmets (and some fetching pantaloons) anyway the pesky punks head out and cause mischief all over the shop and its up to you to travel around and save the day, ready with your armory of mad gadgets. This fact for me rings true of all ape escape games the satisfaction of when you capture a particularly pesky primate GOTCHA! sheer brilliance. far from a by the numbes platformer it makes innovative use of the anologue sticks is rewarding and holds good length since as you progress through the game and unlock new gadgets to help you out you can go back and round up previously unreachable monkeys and unlock some crazy mini games. obviously as a PS1 game the graphics wont give you a nosebleed but as a particularly exceptional PS1 game the graphics aren't so bad as they make you sick. As its a PS1 title it might be a rarity these days but if you do find it it's likely to be a bargain...Id suggest you get it and enjoy
