If you love Where's Waldo and Mystery P.I. you'll like this. If you love Phoenix Wright you will be very disappointed.

If you like combing over pictures looking for obscure details you will love the new "perceive" function. It's especially fun when you use the perceive function to *hear* obscure details in a sound file on the DS. I was riding a train without headphones when this part of the game came up. I don't know what the creators of Ace Attorney were thinking, but everyone *I* know who has played this game thought that was the stupidest thing they had ever seen in a game that cost more than $5.
Apollo Justice is an annoying character, and the changes to the Phoenix Wright character are not believable. This kind of desperate flailing from the writers is usually reserved for when a series' popularity is dying off, and they need to try ideas that are "different" because the have run out of ideas that are "good." So it's hard to understand why anyone would want to do that when the series is growing and expanding its base.
Hopefully this mistake will be forgotten, and the next Ace Attorney will begin with Phoenix Wright saying "I had the craziest dream..."

THE GOOD NEWS: AA/Miles Edgeworth has not fallen into these traps and is a great game, so there's kind of a happy ending to this sad, sad story.
