Artistic masterpiece that goes back to 'old school gaming', but something fresh and new at the same time.

I have played the first portion of the game, and I am very impressed so far. This is a high quality game with top notch production values in every aspect. The visual art, music, story and game play are of a caliber that I am only used to seeing from the likes of Nintendo and other companies who take a lot of pride in their work. Aquaria has a few qualities that will remind you of classic Nintendo games (such as Metroid and Zelda), but in an underwater environment.

Additionally, the very intuitive control scheme makes for a very enjoyable gaming experience that makes you wonder what happened to games like this. This will definitely appeal to the "old-school" gaming bunch, but I don't see why new gamers wouldn't have a blast playing this game as well.

Either way, check it out... I haven't enjoyed a game like this for a long time.
