Great game for any kind of 2d-fighter fan, anime fan, or just anyone who likes multi-combo 2d-fighters.

Arcana Heart is a great game, it is rather basic but also has pleanty of replay value at the same time. The opening menu is the same as every other fighting game. You can start of with training, do versus against the cpu or a friend, and then you can goto Arcade which you fight all 11 characters from the game and try to gain the high score, and last you have the "Story Mode" this is where I was the most disappointed. With me being a huge Anime fane I was expecting to see atleast some cutscenes during story mode but SERIOUSLY these storys are Horrible, they make no sense even when your character encounters an opponent they have some awful dialouge while the characters stands on screen just blinking and your opponents fight you mainly because you faught someone that they are wanting to revenge, so theres not much "story" behind the story mode. I figurd they could have atleast made some cool anime cut scenes.

Next, the gameplay is awsome it is so fun and addicting that you'll be playing for hours and you will see something new in every fight. the buttons are set up just like an arcade fighter, you have A,B,C, and S (special) which are the triangle square, X, and circle buttons, and also you have L1 which is (A,B,C) and R1 (A,B) so its set up very easily for button mashers, or people who are really good at fighting games.

First you choose your character than you choose an arcana which is an "Element" so to say, which can give you "supernatural" powers for a certain amount of time during each fight weather it may be fire, water, wind, metal, nature, and so on. And of course some fighters and better with some arcana.

and Fianally one of the coolest things about this game is that if you uppercut someone up into the air you can hold X to "Homing Track" the opponent which means if your standing on the ground while they are way in the air you hold X and you fighter flys straight towards them and you can fight in the sky, or on your way back down to the ground, it is a REALLY cool thing they have come up with but it almost takes Great Timing to pull this off. There are some great finishers that look really japanese 2d-fighter like, of course they are not as wld as the Marvel vs Capcom scenes but Arcana Heart has a very good look and feel to it.

Last, If you are a fan of Street Fighter type fighting games, or an Anime fan you will be very pleased with this awsome game. If you are the type of person who HATES anime chicks, and the look of 2d-fighters you wont like this but for a PS2 game this is worth every bit of the VERY RESONABLE price of 29.99 So PLEASE support the USA versions of Japanese video games because they have great games that we never see because people over here wont BUY them, so Support these kind of games (its only 30$ and it is way worth it) THANKS and enjoy kick @$$ in the skys.
