Not Bad For An Arcade Transfer
User Rating: 7 | Area 51 PS2
When I heard that there was going to be a game on the PS2 that was on the same basis as the arcade game, I was in awe that I'd get a chance to play the game myself. Usually, the great games that i'm interested in, are usually on another system, however, Area 51 was calling my name out, and so I went for it. The witty comments and the full story of aliens cought my interest. "Welcome to Area 51, formeost spa and masage daycare." "Cole, Shut the hell up..." As for the shooting, there was never really a shortage of bullets flying. Lights would short out, and all I could hear were grunts and foot steps... the light would flash back on and an alien was just about able to pick my nose with his tongue... so I gave him anout 40 rounds "IN THE FACE!" I was very upset however at the variety in this game. I like it when your team-mates shoot and kill the enemies... you can sit behind a barrier and act like a wuss and let them do all the killing, or you can take charge, (behind the barrier) and shoot with them. However, this does not last too long in the fact that your teaqm-mates all die, really quickly, in the begining. Now you are on a solo mission, which seemed to me as though everyone was pushing your buttons. Everyone had an answer, but wanted you to work... Those lazy Bas****s. Other than that, the only other things that bothered me was the gun ideas. There was a shotgun, able to shoot 2 rounds simultaneously, a pistol (my favorite), the the assault rifle, and the ability to do double wield. Then there were 3 alien weapons the you could chose from, which rocked!
All in all, this game was only mediocre. Actually, a real dissapointmen to me. But I'd be more than happy to give them a second chance if there ever was a sequal to Area 51.
