Amazing - yet...dull...

I've marked this one with Gamespot's 'Best in series' tag - although that doesn't say much given the previous ARMA outings. For sure though, this has been better polished, there is more going on, it is more accessible and it is a bit less buggy (although I never risked playing the vanilla version and waited for a few patches first). Now your squad will (eventually) 'Get in the vehicle' although the + key helps here to go to 4x speed while they do it...
I must say it is quite a piece of work, a game like this. It is nicely realistic (as infantry at least) but the problem there is a lot of long range shooting at a few blurry pixels and equally getting shot by something you can hardly see. This is all well and good but I can't help but think, 'Am I excited by this game? Am I on the edge of my seat wanting to play more? Is it intense?' and unfortunately the answers are not very positive.
I think GRAW is about as close to realistic I want to play that answers 'Yes' to the above as well - no doubt this upsets all the mature ARMA fans but oh well. OA is very good, it is just not much 'fun'.
