Excellent War Sim !

I was very reluctant to pick up this game based on some of the negative reviews it received. It sees as though people really love it or hate it. Had I purchased this game at the time of its release, I probably would have been pissed too, due to all the bugs and glitches. Yes the learning curve is a little rough at first. There is a lot of trial and error when figuring out how to efficiently operate some of the vehicles even after going through boot camp, which is kind of a crash course. The friendly A.I. can be trying at times even with the latest patches. And the color palette seems a little drab. But it's been almost a year and several patches later and although it still has a few bugs and rough edges, It's a warsim fanatics dream.

I immediately jumped into the campaign and was overwhelmed and somewhat turned off by the game. But then I went into the Armory, Scenarios, and Showcases. Basically a giant sandbox to play with all the weapons, vehicles, planes and helicopters.

After spending a day or two messing around in the Armory and Showcases, and then completing most of the Scenarios, I went back to the Campaign and found it to be alot funner and easier than when I had first played it. I cannot stress this enough for people who didn't like this game. Go spend a few days in the Armory and Showcases and do a few scenarios before you even attempt the Campaign.

The bottom line is: You have to devote your undivided gaming time to this title if you want to get anywhere. There are alot of commands and keys to remember. Your not going to just jump into this game and complete missions if you don't take the time to really learn how to use all the different vehicles and commands. But once you do and you get comfortable, it's fun as hell and is definately in my top 5 FPS ever.
