A trial of a thousand deaths would be funner.

Back in the old days before the Enlightenment and the Reformation, criminality was described mainly as what hurt or went against the word of the church. So-called criminals were put through brutal ordeals, and even worse, were viciously tortured to determine their guilt. If you could put up with getting your tongue burned with red-hot searing irons, then maybe it was because god gave you the strength of will to resist giving in, and, therefore, that you were innocent. Well, let me tell you, a lot more people would have confessed, and a lot more quickly at that, if instead they would have been forced to play Armored Core: The Last Raven.

The graphics are lame and boring, placid, simple, bare, empty, severely lacking. I didn`t really notice anything about the sound. Perhaps it was okay. But the gameplay is totally horrible. Your mech moves at the speed of smell, and there is an annoying delay between your commands and your mech`s movements that serves only to exaggerate and exacerbate the game`s pace, which is already too slow.

However, it gets worse before it gets better... actually, it never gets better. Once you do get through a level -- after a while on account of your mech's lightning slow speed and reaction time -- you`ll notice the levels themselves are as bare and boring and straight forward as everything else.

Also, you`ll spend most of your time buying parts for and customizing your mech for optimal performance. Maybe that`s a good thing, or at least a point that`s rendered moot, since the action is lacking as mention above.

So don`t even check your bargain bin. It`s not even worth that much. Instead, if you want a mech game, check out Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner.
