[Last Chance] 14 Days Of Fortnite Guide: Location Of Giant Candy Canes And More Challenges
'Tis the season.
Update: Epic inadvertently announced the wrong end date for the 14 Days of Fortnite event, surprising many players when it came to a close. While its plan to make up for this was originally to give away one of its rewards to everyone who participated, it's instead decided to bring back the event entirely. 14 Days of Fortnite is live again right now, giving you another opportunity to complete the challenges and earn their corresponding rewards. Read on for a look at all the challenges that are available, including locations of the giant candy canes. The original story follows.
We're now on Day 14 of the ongoing 14 Days of Fortnite event in Epic's much-loved battle royale game, which means a new challenge and reward are available. That isn't all, of course; from now until January 2, Fortnite players on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices can hop into new and returning limited-time modes, purchase seasonal outfits from the in-game shop, and even earn daily rewards.
On top of the aforementioned LTMs, Epic is offering a new challenge each day during the 14 Days of Fortnite event, which will net you a free seasonal reward once completed. If you manage to finish all 14 of the challenges from the event, you'll also unlock a very special mystery item.
Epic is revealing the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges day by day, so we'll be rounding up a list of all the tasks from the event and the rewards you get for completing them as they're unveiled. Be sure to check back here each day of the event as we update the list with challenges, rewards, and tips on how to get them once they're available.
The first 14 Days of Fortnite challenge is straightforward. You'll simply need to create or join a server in the game's new Creative mode, which allows players create their own games and play around as they see fit in their own private matches. Once you do that, you'll unlock the first of the event's daily rewards: an Ornament Spray featuring the letters "GG."
The second challenge is a little trickier. This one asks you to visit two giant candy canes. There are only a handful of these scattered around the map, three of which are located in the new snow biome, making that area your best bet for completing the challenge. You can see their locations below. Once you've completed the challenge, you'll earn a new loading screen.
Giant Candy Cane Locations
- Atop the mountain north of Frosty Flights
- Atop the hill east of Shifty Shafts
- Atop the snowy hill west of Fatal Fields
Day 3's challenge, much like Day 1's, is very simple; all you need to do is play three matches of any game mode with a friend. Once you've completed all three, you'll unlock the third daily reward: a new Snowball toy.
Day 4 will require you to put your aim to the test by launching a snowball at enemies. All you've got to do is hit a target player with a snowball in four different matches and you're golden. For Day 5, meanwhile, you'll need to get yourself one of the new X-4 Stormwing planes and guide it through five golden rings. Finally, for Day 6, you'll need to head near bodies of water and find goose nests and the eggs within them. There's plenty around, but you'll just need to interact with six.
For Day 7, it's another simple one: use Boogie Bombs or Presents seven times, and in return you'll get a nifty Gingerbread pet to carry around while you have your battle royale adventures on the island. Day 8, meanwhile, is a challenge you can probably complete just by playing a few games. It asks players to damage enemies with eight different weapons.
In Day 9, you'll need to visit nine Christmas trees and do a boogie in front of them. For your troubles you'll get a Snow Globe banner. If you want a Holiday Stormwing spray, you'll need to grab a vehicle and land a trick in 10 different named location for Day 10's challenges. In Day 11, you'll need to show your appreciation for the Battle Bus driver and give thanks in 11 different matches.
For Day 12, you'll need to hunt down 12 Snowflake decorations and unleash your wrath on them. In return, you'll get a Snowflake emoticon. For the last two days you've got to place devices on a Creative island and search 14 chests. For the former you'll get a disco Wrap and for the latter it's a glider. And thus, the 14 days come to an end.
In addition to daily challenges, Epic featured a variety of new and returning limited-time modes during the 14 Days of Fortnite event. These rotated frequently throughout the event with "large team modes" switching every 48 hours, while "small team modes" changed every 24.
