1906 from Darkworks

The developers of Alone in the Dark 4 announce a new game for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

Darkworks Studio is developing a new action-adventure game for the Sony PlayStation 2 and the Microsoft Xbox. Titled 1906: An Arctic Odyssey, the game will be loosely based on novels by the legendary fiction writer Jules Verne. However, the development studio is not interested in fully re-creating one of Verne's works, such as Journey to the Center of the Earth or Around the World in 80 Days. Instead, it hopes to borrow elements from those and other novels and to create brand-new characters and a new story. Darkworks is quick to point out, though, that it plans to base portions of this new adventure on the best-known passages from Verne's works.

No specific gameplay information is available at this time. The game is currently on schedule for a late 2001 release.
