Microsoft has announced this week's Deals With Gold sale and, as usual, there's not a ton to be had on Xbox One. However, a handful of quality games are discounted for the next week--provided you're an Xbox Live Gold member.

Xbox One's three deals include only a single game: Valiant Hearts, the World War I puzzle-adventure game, is just $10. The other deals are for a pricey retro costume pack in Killer Instinct and a shortcut kit for Battlefield 4's engineer class (which is to say, you can pay to unlock various upgrades and weapons rather than needing to play to earn them).

Xbox 360 is where the week's best deals are. Valiant Hearts is even cheaper on last-gen hardware at $7.50, while Metro 2033, Eternal Sonata, and Tales of Vesperia can all be had for only $5 each. (If you like 2033, Metro: Last Light is only $10, but keep in mind both of these Metro game are not the HD remakes.) Also of note are the first two Monkey Island games, which are just $2.50 each--a real steal for such seminal adventure games.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I had both games on 360 and never beat them. Tales of Vesperia I got to a boss and just could not figure out how to win the battle. Eventually sold it. Eternal Sonata was pretty sweet but for some reason it is the only game in my whole 39 years that has ever put me to sleep on a regular basis. Almost 50% of the time I'd be playing it I'd start dozing off. Thus I never finished that one either. :(


For $5 each I'm tempted to give them a go again assuming I still have saves on the HDD.

Not a bad deal, $5 for Metro 2033, makes up the slight graphics deficit over the PC version 10 times over at that price. And all for the low price of $5 a month for gold. If you ask me the PC has nothing on the 360, yes it has slightly better graphics but at the end of the day this is one hell of a deal. PC master race? Come on, it's console master race.

To be fair... as bad as the deals are for Xbox One, I can say they are generally better then PlayStations deals. I don't think Sony has yet to have a flash sale that has had a PS4 game with any sort of discount. The monthly PSN deals have been okay, but mostly just deals on indie games.

I definitely recommend people get Valiant Hearts. I've been thinking about it today, and so far, that may be my favorite game of the year, or at least in my top five. I would recommend games from last-gen but... Just buy new consoles now :P.

I recommend Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia.
Its a steal for that price and it gives you together probably around 200 hours of gameplay.
