9 Big Games We're Still Waiting To Hear About In 2018

Lost in limbo.

A lot of games come out each year, but 2017 was especially busy. Between long-awaited games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Persona 5 to surprises like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds--and exciting announcements, like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Metro Exodus--it's easy to overlook some things. In the video above, we take a look at games that have dropped off the radar almost entirely.

Each year, we compile a list that have all but gone missing. After recent one-word tweet, presumably a hint that developer CD Projekt Red will have more to say in the near future, we've released Cyberpunk 2077 from our missing games list after three straight years of no news.

Now Playing: 9 Big Games That Have Gone Missing In 2018

Not all games are so lucky, however, including Borderlands 3 and Dead Island 2. These games were announced or heavily hinted at in the past, maybe got trailers and gameplay, and then were largely unheard of--but not canceled.

See our gallery for the full list of this year's missing games, and let us know which ones you're looking forward to hearing more (or anything) about.

Hey, you can take out Borderlands 3 off this list now!

What I'm actually worried about is Tekken X Street Fighter, and how

you guys at GameSpot decided to add a game

that's "no longer in active development" to one of your surveys.

Some of this is stupid. We all know Phantom Dust was scrapped and a free release of the remastered original was the replacement. Get off the hate train Gamespot. Deep down and Agent are cancelled imo. They're great to get the Sony fanboys going at E3 when announcing games but they just fade away silently rather than officially tell people they are cancelled LOL. In reality who cares? There are plenty of games. I haven't even finished last year's.

Not hard to figure out what's happening with Borderlands 3. 2K was the only publisher that defended EA and the whole Battlefront 2 fiasco, so we know whatever B3 is going to be, it will be at least a horribly GaaS'y P2W game in some kind of MMO like world.

@Barighm: I hope you're not right. But let's face it, you are.

My theory is they had the game almost "ready" but then the bad press for Battlefront started coming after the betas and it was back to square one. Besides the tech demo and some mo cap animations, I have it on pretty good authority that they haven't even started working on it as of last September.

Dead Island 2 development switched to Sumo Digital in 2016 so we kinda gotta assume that we won't see this game till 2020 at the earliest assuming they restarted everything from scratch.

@gamingdevil800: I just hope they haven't rebooted it as some sort of forced-online/mmo type of game.

@capocrimeboss: Well, it's Deep Silver, so...yeah, most likely. DS is like the worst follow the leader publisher out there. It's the reason why Dying Light's devs bailed on it.
