A Look At Monster Hunter World's Deviljho Wreaking Havoc Before Release
See the returning monster in action before it arrives tomorrow.
The first major patch for Monster Hunter World is almost here. The free update rolls out for both PS4 and Xbox One on March 22, and along with balance changes for nearly all weapon types, it reintroduces an old monster from the series: the fearsome Deviljho. Before it arrives in the game, Capcom has provided closer look at the insatiable beast.
Ahead of this week's update, Capcom took on the dreaded Deviljho during a special Monster Hunter World livestream. What makes Deviljho unique among all the monsters you encounter in the game is its ravenous appetite. Deviljho must feed "constantly," a fact that Capcom showcased by leading it around the Ancient Forest to attack other monsters; at one point during the stream, it latches onto a Jagras and begins swinging it around like a weapon. You can watch a replay of the livestream above.

Players will be able create two new full armor sets using the materials they harvest from Deviljho: Vangis α and Vangis β. Capcom is also introducing a new "entry" for all 14 weapon types, which the publisher says on its blog include brand-new designs for Sword and Shield, Hunting Horn, Bow, Insect Glaive, and Charge Blade. You can take a look at some of the new gear in the gallery above.
In addition to Deviljho, this week's Monster Hunter World update buffs a number of weapon types, particularly of the melee variety. Capcom is also adding new options to the Return Destination menu after finishing a quest and addressing an issue that allowed players to prevent their teammates from carving a monster.
Soon after the update rolls out, Capcom will kick off the first seasonal event in Monster Hunter World, the Spring Blossom Fest. That begins on April 5 and will feature "daily fun activities" and a redecorated Gathering Hub. Two Event Quests will also begin during the Spring Blossom Fest: one to obtain the fan-created Wyvern Ignition Great Sword, and the other for the retro Mega Man Palico armor.
