Acclaim Entertainment has announced the development of three new titles for the PlayStation2. The first is a new sports title for the Sony machine called All-Star Baseball 2002, and the other two are games based on Acclaim's Ferrari license - one centering on Ferrari Formula 1 and the other on the 360 Challenge series.

Acclaim is developing several other titles for the PlayStation2 as well. A press statement issued by the company included the mention of several character-based games that are being developed exclusively for the PlayStation2.

"We are dedicated to working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to develop unique titles that take full advantage of this groundbreaking next-generation system," said Greg Fischbach, cochairman and CEO of Acclaim Entertainment. "We will vigorously support the PlayStation2 computer-entertainment system with the introduction of new, exciting, and high-quality titles during the launch period and ongoing. We will launch several new strong brands, such as Ferrari, and introduce Acclaim Sports titles leading with All Star Baseball 2002."

Acclaim has previously announced that it will be bringing the Bizarre Creations-developed action-shooter title Furballs (known in the US as Fur Fighters) to the PlayStation2. Other likely candidates for the PlayStation2 include Trickstyle 2, a new ECW title, another installment in the Shadowman series, and Quarterback Club 2001.
