Activision revealed today that it is currently developing a Spider-Man game for the Sony PlayStation 2. While no details were given regarding the game's projected release date, it is reportedly well underway. Spider-Man is one of 14 titles currently in development for the PlayStation 2 by Activision.

"Spider-Man has redefined the 3D action-adventure genre through its unique action gameplay and fluid character movements," said Ron Doornink, president and COO, Activision. "The renowned web-slinging, wall-crawling hero is one of the few popular culture icons that has successfully crossed multiple media. Spider-Man's acrobatic agility and high-flying comic book action, combined with the PlayStation 2's graphical enhancements and real-time technology, will make this franchise a marquee brand."
