Activision on GameCube and Xbox

In an interview with GameSpot today, Kathy Vrabeck, executive vice president of global branding management for Activision, spoke about her company's support for both the Nintendo GameCube and the Microsoft Xbox.

"We fully intend to support the GameCube, but like everybody, we still don't have development kits. As a third-party publisher, our big franchises will always appear on multiple platforms," she said.

In reference to which specific Activision games will appear on the GameCube, Vrabeck stated, "You can expect to see our extreme sports and Disney titles - those kinds of things."

Activision announced its support for the Microsoft Xbox at the console's unveiling a few weeks ago, but today it was confirmed that several of its high-profile games are slated to make an appearance.

"You can expect our extreme sports franchises such as Tony Hawk, along with fighting and superhero types of games. We will be going after the core consumer at launch, and we will line up our franchises to fit that demographic," stated Vrabeck.

Activision has previously released extreme sports titles such as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX, and No Fear Downhill Mountainbike Racing. Activision also holds licenses for Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life and Toy Story franchises.
