Last week, a TikTok of Adam Sandler abruptly leaving an IHOP restaurant went viral, after the employee who spoke to him subsequently realised who her potential customer was. Now Sandler has responded to the incident.

The original video showed Sandler and his daughter leaving the IHOP after staffer Dayanna Rodas told him he'd have to wait 30 minutes for a table. Having realised who it was, Rodas pleaded with him in the TikTok caption to return for pancakes.

Sandler has now tweeted about the video, which to date has had 2.3 million likes. The Uncut Gems and Hubie Halloween star jokingly revealed that it wasn't the wait for tables that made him suddenly exit, but because "the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn't apply to the milkshakes." Check the tweet out below:

Sandler's next movie for Netflix will be a sci-fi drama titled Spaceman. It will be directed by Chernobyl's Johan Renck, and it was recently announced that Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan will co-star.

In addition, Sandler's production company Happy Madison is making a football movie titled Home Team. Kevin James is rumored to have been cast as New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, but it's unknown if Sandler himself will appear.
