Afrika journeys to PS3 this fall

I played Harvest moon and i loved it but i this game just seems kinda pointless....looks awesome but still kinda looks boring!

I owe every system but the PS3 but I will definately buy into it for this game. I think Afrika and Heavy Rain look fantastic games.

I hope this is one of those frustration free games. Online has had me worked up lately =/

Looks interesting, i would play it. It's also nice to see that not every game has to be all about killing, although it can be fun in some games. Everyone that is criticising this game because theres no killing - wow, just go to someplace we can't find you. :D

rockfan_man: The game has actually been out in Asia for quite some time (Afrika in Japan, Hakuna Matata in mainland Asia). No one had yet picked it up for US release. We can thank Natsume for that now.

I hope the Nat Geo videos you unlock are HD and in-depth with accurate information. I don't like pets but i do like watching shows that feature wildlife. So i am probably going to buy this.

This game has been taking almost as long as FF13 to come out. Man I have been hearing about this game since I got my playstation 3. What I really don't understand is how come some games are announced way way way in advance and then it takes years for them to actually release.

Although I have no interest in this, it does sound pretty cool. I would say 'unique', but I believe that there was a pokemon version of this back on the 64. Still, pretty interesting. Another 'odd man out' game can't hurt in my opinion. Variations in games is always a good thing.

Interesting twist. Can't wait to try it out.

This looks like it could be quite a good game. Getting assignments at least offers a challenge. I wonder if they'll recreate that great Youtube video with the lions, crocodile and the wildebeest. That'd be worth snapping.

Im actually pretty interested in this game and been hoping they were moving it to stateside. Im all for supporting non-traditional style games ie flOw, Flower, Aquanauts, etc.

I appreciate these types of non-traditional artistic games, so I will probably buy this. It looks beautiful and the kind of "game" that you can just relax to.

oh btw the asia version (entirely in english) is called Hakuna Matata, not afrika. id be pissed if i bought the wrong one...

i cant believe its taken them this long to release this! the japanese version isnt in english but the asian release is entirely in english. you can get it at playasia.com and it works perfectly on american ps3's. anyways, this game is rad!! ive played it for about 40 hours id estimate and I have only discovered about half of the animals. i just got to the night missions.. some of the photo assignments are really epic, others are relaxing and some are funny, like taking a picture of a hippo yawning, or capturing a lion vs buffalo fight. also gamespot didnt mention.. the game has a twitter-like site where you can upload your pics and share them. they even have contests!

I may not be interested in this game, but I'm not willing to write it off just yet, considering how much fun Pokemon Snap was on the old N64.

Pokemen snub? how is this like that stupid kids game? besides taking virtual pics they are nothing alike. This game educates about actual wild life, and you get to unlock actual animal video footage, hopefully in HD. I don't think there are real pokemen in reality, last time i checked only moronic children thought so.

i would rather be able to be an animal. that would be fun, like that one dog game on the ps2. being a lion and eating animals would be cool or like a water buffalo and ramming stuff. yeah i wanna ram stuff.

looks great, M$ pretty much ruined console gaming with the push towards worthless shooters. As much as i love Killzone 2 and Uncharted they get boring with level after level of mindless repetition. SO, this game is one i almost bought via import from PlayAsia, glad i didn't because i'll just buy the US version now. I like the concept of the educational safari, taking pics, unlocking Nat Geo videos, cool. Great addition to the dead console market. Wii60 is ruining it all. Thank God for Sony, Fumito Ueda(ICO/SOTC), GT5, Uncharted, KZ2, HotShotsGolf, inFamous, Folklore, Heavy Rain, LBP, MotorStorm, MGS. Without Sony what's the point in gaming at all?

aha, another showpiece. Graphics and atmosphere what more could a true gamer want? Guns are undesirable.
