Age Of Empires 3: Definitive Edition Releases In October With New Civilizations
The Swedes and the Incas join the third remaster of this timeless classic.
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is launching on PC on October 15, with the visual remaster also including two new game modes and civilizations to play as.
Following in step with remasters of both Age of Empires and Age of Empires II, this third definitive edition spruces up the visuals of the strategy game to make it more palatable for a modern audience. That includes 4K support and fully rebuilt models, as well as improvements to the aged UI, reworked sound effects, and an enhanced soundtrack.
Two additional game modes help expand on the existing remastered content. Historical Battles are set-piece feuds inspired by historical events of the time, while Art of War challenges return from Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. These challenges are designed not only to test your strategically understanding, but also to guide new players towards discovering new parts of the game's meta.
Along with the new modes, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will also bolster its roster of 14 civilizations with the inclusion of both the Swedes and the Incas. The Swedes are more battle-ready, with sophisticated weapons and military strategy. The Incas, by comparison, are more passive, giving you more options for expansion with large stone cities and settlements.
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will launch on Steam and the Windows 10 Store for $20. If you own Age of Empires III: Complete Collection or either of the previous Definitive Editions, you will be entitled to a 25% discount. It will also be included with Xbox Games Pass for PC.
